WHy we gather

We gather together on Sundays to meet with the living God and be encouraged, formed spiritually, and strengthened as changed followers of Jesus. Our Sunday Gathering follows a Modern Liturgy, an ancient pattern that still reaches us today. We begin by hearing God's call to worship—an invitation to know, love, and follow him. We give space to practice confession and lament in a world that never slows down.

We drink deep the good news that love, acceptance, forgiveness and mercy are offered to all who recognize their need and provision in Jesus. After listening to the Scriptures proclaimed through preaching (SERMONS), we respond by sharing communion—a meal to remember that Jesus gave his life for us. Our worship style includes both contemporary songs and traditional hymns. We also do responsive readings regularly. We hope to bring the historic Christian faith to modern ears in a way that is beautiful and engaging. Finally, we conclude our gathering by being sent out into the world to be a blessing, empowered by self-sacrificing love, for God’s glory and the good of our city.

Our Sunday Gatherings are also a great entry point for someone who is seeking, skeptical, or curious. It is our sincere desire to thoughtfully explore your questions about God and Christianity with you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Whether you’ve never been to church, it’s been a while, or you’re used to one specific kind, it’s natural to feel a little anxious when trying something new. We don’t want you to be any different with us than you are at work or home, so dress as you like and come as you are.

Seven mile kids

Additionally, your kids will enjoy learning about Jesus with friends at Seven Mile KIDS. During the school year (Sept-June), we offer 2 adult-supervised classes (All of our volunteers are background checked, CORI checked and trained on childcare best practice through Ministry Safe) on Sundays: 1-4 year-olds and K-3rd Grade. During the summer, kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade join their families during the gathering (quiet activities provided). There is a class from 1-4 year-olds year round. Parents can begin checking kids in at our check in station at 9:45am. Parents and kids participate in the first part of our worship gathering together. After a brief kids sermon from one of our pastors, the 1-4 y/o and K-3rd Graders will be dismissed to head downstairs to Seven Mile Kids.

SEVEN MILE YOUTH

Twice a month (2nd and 4th Sundays) during the school year our youth Grades 6 and up gather at 9am to be formed and shaped by the Gospel. To learn more about your youth ministry including other events, check out our Youth Ministry Page
