Clint Patronella
Pastor, Direction and vision

By God's unmerited grace, Clint is an adopted son of God the Father, serving Jesus, being sent by the Spirit to make disciples in Greater Boston (Waltham). After completing a Masters in Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, Clint joined the staff at The Village Church as a Groups Pastor, ministering to men and women at the Dallas Northway campus.

In October 2012, Clint went to Boston for the first time to attend a conference and everything changed.  God had called Clint to the work of church planting while in seminary, but had yet to give him a location and a people. That weekend, the LORD stirred in Clint a burden for the people of Boston and set the Patronellas on a journey to plant in Waltham, a growing community along the Charles River just 9 miles west of downtown Boston.

He is married to his best friend, Andea and together they have five beautiful children: Bryton, Haddon, Everett, Evangeline, and Emerson. They love reading, good eats, and conversations with friends.

LAUREN DAVIES
DIRECTOR, SEVEN MILE KIDS

Lauren was born and raised in South Africa where she grew up in a quaint little town and came to know the Lord while attending Sunday School. By Gods grace, her faith deepened after a challenging teenage period where the Lord gently, yet powerfully called her His own. Lauren studied Occupational Therapy and worked for several years as a pediatric OT, first in public health and then as a school based therapist. She and her husband moved to the US in 2014 for an ‘adventure’ and have (unexpectedly) felt lead to stay. They moved to Waltham and joined Seven Mile Road Church in 2022 and have been blessed in spiritual growth and community. Lauren loves nature and spending time outdoors, especially hiking and running. She and her husband have three young children who keep life full and joyful. She also enjoys gardening, reading, and eating chocolate.

justin fung
DIRECTOR, worship and liturgy

Justin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and was baptized in college at Chinese for Christ, Berkeley. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2023, he moved to Boston and now works at a utility company. He misses California’s Mexican food and playing frisbee year-round. Though trained analytically, he strives to listen well, ask good questions, and help others more fully enjoy and embrace Jesus Christ. Such desires come from being greatly shaped by the Heidelberg Catechism, Hebrews, the Psalms, and burritos. He serves so that others may share his joy in rejoicing in God and all that He comes to do for us in the Gospel. In his free time, Justin enjoys watching shows like Pinky and the Brain, taking long walks, discussing theology, and writing about Jesus.

Becca Olson
administrative assistant

Becca grew up in the Greater Boston area and became a Christian at a young age during vacation bible school. Her faith became her own as she grew up. The Lord was faithful and kind to her throughout her college and young adult years. Becca is a stay at home mom to two wonderful babies. She and her husband, Neal, started attending Seven Mile Road Waltham in 2018. Before she had children, she worked as a project manager at Brandeis University. Becca is blessed to be able to serve SMR Waltham and the Lord with her administrative and organizational skills. Becca loves to read, run, and try new restaurants.

Magdiel Guardado
Elder

Magdiel was born and raised in El Salvador’s capital, San Salvador. After graduating from business school, Magdiel and his wife Tania moved to the Greater Boston area in 2019, along with their two young children. Magdiel and his family joined Seven Mile Road Malden in 2019 and in 2022 joined Seven Mile Road Waltham, serving as an elder since 2024.

While quantitatively leaning, Magdiel has also completed a Master in Theological Studies from Grimké Seminary and it’s currently enrolled in Grimké’s Master of Sacred Theology, a program that emphasizes rhetorical and theological development.

Magdiel loves watching anime, reading manga, and weekly “family video game night” sessions.

Samuel Jero, Elder

Samuel grew up near Dayton, Ohio in a Christian family. He came to Christ at a young age, but that faith really matured and became his own in high school. He attended Ohio University for BS and MS degrees and then Purdue University for a PhD, all in Computer Science. Near the end of graduate school, Samuel met his future wife Denise. They married in 2017 and moved out to Greater Boston where they began attending Seven Mile Road Waltham. They have been members of the church since 2018, and Samuel has served as an elder since 2024.

Samuel and Denise live in Waltham and have one son: Deitrick. Samuel currently works for MIT doing computer security research. Samuel loves reading, mainly history and theology, and building computer systems.

JOY HUI,
YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Joy is from Salt Lake City where she grew up in the church her family attended (Living Stone Fellowship Church), got baptized as a middle school youth student, and graduated high school. God then brought her to college in Boston, where, through her academic struggles and her college fellowship’s faithful ministry, He revealed Himself as the God who was leading her into deeper and more personal relationship with Him, who was loving, present and unchanging, even in the face of uncertain futures and stressful realities. Through His grace, she graduated with an electrical engineering degree and now works in Waltham.

Joy joined SMR Waltham in 2020 and started serving as Youth Coordinator in 2021, working with other youth leaders to help students more personally know the Word and each other in their faith journeys.

In their free time, Joy and her husband Sam enjoy Chipotle, cartoons, and Costco speed runs.
